Experience Before Explanation

Predictive Poetry is best understood through participation.

Descriptions, demonstrations, and explanations all have value, but none can replace the experience of producing a series of connections—a trace—for yourself. Language reveals its possibilities most clearly through use.

For this reason, Predictive Poetry favors experience followed by instruction whenever possible. A remarkable trace teaches more than a careful definition. A single correspondence can communicate more than a page of documentation.

Explanation has an important role, but its purpose is to illuminate experience rather than substitute for it.

Doctrine does not exist to persuade anyone that Predictive Poetry is meaningful. It exists to help people understand what they have experienced and, eventually, what they have created.

Every invitation into Predictive Poetry should therefore begin with exploration.
